Shirley Forbes

Shirley B. Forbes passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017. She was born November 19, 1922 in Denver, Colorado to Louis and Marguerith Becker. Shirley was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed. Shirley moved to Amarillo, TX in 1930 where she attended Amarillo High School and Amarillo College. Then she began a life as a wife and homemaker, later beginning a new career at the Psychiatric Pavilion from which she later retired and traveled extensively with her husband.

She was a woman of grace and dignity, loved and admired by all who knew her. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Louis C. and Marguerith Becker; husband, Col. W.H. Forbes, Jr. (USAF Ret.); and son, Curtis Carl Keilman. She is survived by children, Sharon K. Tellgren of Carrollton , Texas; Carla R. Keilman of San Antonio, Texas; Gail Forbes Buchanan (Gene) of Amarillo, Texas; Byron K. Forbes of Amarillo, Texas; daughter-in-law, Lynda Keilman of Troy, Texas ; 5 grandchildren: Scott, Blake, Doug, Christina and Jessica; 11 great grandchildren, and other loving family and friends.
