Shirley Katherine Dedeke Corbett

She graduated from San Marcos HS in 1953 and attended Southwest Texas State Teachers College, graduating with a degree in Elementary Education in 1957. Shirley worked as an elementary school teacher for the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal ISD for 24 years. Shirley was a member of the St Paul’s United Church of Christ in Cibolo, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Corbett, Sr., parents Eddie and Norma Dedeke, and brothers August Dedeke and Eddie Dedeke, Jr. Shirley is survived by sons Raymond Corbett, Jr. (Bonnie) and Sherman Corbett (Julie), daughter Mona Corbett, sisters Doris Luersen, Edna Guttery, and Helen Leissner (Martin), and brother Walter Carl Dedeke (Jan). She is also survived by four grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Raymond III, Kacey, and Mason Corbett.

Visitation will take place at Sunset Funeral Home Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at 9:00 a.m., with a graveside service in Sunset Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley or the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD. .
