Shirley Ruth Bates passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the age of 86. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 21, 1929 to VC and Dorothy Dickinson. She was preceded in death by her husband, JR Bates and her brother, Richard Dickinson. She is survived by her son, Kirk Bates and his wife, Susan and her daughter, Cindy Reynolds and her husband, Rob; and her grandsons, Ben Bates and Sterling Reynolds.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
A visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 5-8 pm and a graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 10:00 am. Condolences may be offered at sunsetfuneralhomesa.com.
