SGM Jimmie Goforth U.S. Army (ret.), age 80, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 in San Antonio, TX. He was born on June 20, 1935 in Yosemite, KY to Elvis & Beulah Goforth. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Joyce Burnes.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Christine Goforth; children, William Goforth & wife Lisa, Caroline Laurence & husband Lynn and Patricia Goforth & partner David Gamerman; grandchildren, Stephanie Cooke and Nicolas Goforth; great grandchildren, Liam Cooke, Asher Cooke and James Goforth; brother, John Goforth & wife Ruthie; sister, Adie Masterson & husband Bill; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel followed by a 12:30 p.m. Funeral Service with Full Military Army Honors. Entombment will follow at the Sunset Mausoleum II. Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.com.
