Sarah Casanova Gomez, born December 26, 1928, in Elmendorf, Texas, went home to be with our Lord on January 13, 2018, at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Victor A. Gomez; parents, Fernando and Micaela Casanova; daughter, Rosalinda Carbajal; daughter-in-law, Virginia Gomez, and one sister and three brothers. She is survived by her children; Alex (wife, Linda Rose), Victor, Richard, and Daniel Gomez (wife, Phyllis), 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and sister, Micaela Alvarado. Sarah was devoted to her church, Our Lady of Good Counsel, and regularly attended mass. She was an active member of the Guadalupanas and participated in the activities at the Commander's Club Senior Center. She enjoyed watching t.v. novellas, playing bingo, and cooking. Keeping in touch with family members in Texas and Michigan and many devoted friends was important to Sarah. Sarah leaves a legacy of strength and resilience to her descendants and others. May her memory be eternal.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. San Antonio, Tx. 78237 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m. On Wednesday, January 31, 2018 a mass will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel at 9:00 a.m with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
