'To my mommy and best friend, 
If I could choose any Mother out of all the possibilities in this world, it would always be my sweet Mom. She was one of the kindest human beings. I loved her for so many things, but her ability to find common ground with anyone AND to treat all people equally, were just two of her many gifts from God. She could talk to anyone and she usually did; they didn't call her "Talky Johnson" for nothing when she was in elementary school. She loved life and lived hers with lots of joy. She and I always had this understanding about the important things in life: not necessarily in this order Friendship, reading, shopping,the ocean, chocolate, Sean Connery & Cary Grant our vote for the sexiest men alive and dead, shopping again, thinking of witty things to say after the fact, and "smooching all over our little babies", most recently, Katharine's baby Cainan. 
The last 2 month's I had with my Mom were the very best. She claimed she had no pain and we believed her because she always said she "was just fine and not to worry". In fact, when everyone kept asking her about all of the weight she was losing, she'd say: "Doesn't anyone believe that I WANT to be skinny again???" She would never have admitted she was sick or feeling bad. We laughed so much, even the last few days before she died. She lived up to her nickname "Talky Johnson" to the very end.........she was still talking to us up until about 20 minutes before she died. And she would ask me funny/sad things when other people would leave the room like: "What's happening to me.........I mean besides me dying and all." Warped sense of humor until the end!!! 
She is incredible, she is our personal angel and everyone that ever came into contact with her, walked away better people for having known her. She is personally making God and all of the Saints laugh in Heaven on a daily basis. I KNOW my Mom so well!

'I will always remember Sally for her precious wit and sense of humor. She could make me laugh like no one else. I would find my way to her office often because I enjoyed talking to her so much. She could make something funny out of what I thought were the worst of circumstances and put life back in perspective. I have missed her since she retired from North East. I know she is with the Lord now and happy as she can be.

'I worked with Sally about a year prior to her retirement. She was one of the sweetest people I know. She always made me laugh and we had a great time going to lunch together. I was devastated to hear about her death and she will be very missed. She will be a beautiful angel - going on the 4th - that sounds like Sally, always doing things with a big bang. I loved her dearly.'

'I am so sorry to learn of Sally's passing. Since I retired we had lost touch with each other, but I will always remember her smiling face. I loved her from the time we shared a garage apartment on Kayton St. in the '50s, and then she was one of the first old friends I saw when I returned to San Antonio in the late '60s, greeting me at Churchill High School! We shared many memories and wonderful times working together for North East ISD...She will be missed and remembered lovingly.'

I know your hearts are heavy, yet you are glad you Mom is now in a place where there is no struggle nor pain. I think of her as joining Aunt Lou and Uncle Hug, Meme and Dodie, Mother and Daddy and all the rest of our beloved relatives that met her at heaven's gate. They will enjoy that great sense of humor now, the one that I truely loved about your Mom. I also loved her because she was beautiful, inside and out, and was a sweet, caring lady. Even though I didn't get to see her that often, I always felt close to her and enjoyed being around her. In her own little way, she quietly brought many laughs to a conversation and had the best giggle, that you couldn't help but giggle along with her. She was one of a kind and you were both very blessed to be brought into this world by her. God bless you in your sorrow,
