Ruth Ella Smith

Ruth Ella Smith, age 89, went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2014. She was born on October 26, 1924 in Waelder, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kyle and Ardessa (Derry) Hunt, husband, Arthur L. Smith, son, Jerome Smith and a sister, Ossie Mae Hunt. She is survived by her son, Charles McCowan and a daughter, Doris Baldwin; grandchildren, Scott Porter, Larry Porter Jr, Patrick Evan Farrar, Marcus Smith, Sean Smith, Jena Smith, Angie Terrance, Adam McCowan, Navasha Brown and Allen Brown; great-grandchildren, Alon Farrar, Evan Farrar, Christina Farrar, Oladia Menchaca, Romaris Menchaca, Shaelyn Smith and Phillip Hall III; sisters, Zelma Grace Hargrove, Olivia E. Ussery and June Yancy; brothers, Alexander H. Hunt and Franklin D. Hunt; numerosu nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road on Monday, April 14, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home with Rev. David Floyd Archibald officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
