

Roy Gene Weldon, 72, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012, in San Antonio. A lifelong resident of San Antonio, he was born on October 2, 1939, to W. Otis and Lillie Mae Weldon. Roy had a long and successful career in sales for the food industry, working for both White Swan and Sysco Foods. He loved to read about history, especially Texas history, and also enjoyed playing golf. He was a member of Parkhills Baptist Church. Although he enjoyed working, worship and leisure, his grandchildren were the focus of his life. He spoke with them every day, and delighted in all their endeavors. Roy was a transplant survivor, having received a kidney from his son Dathan 24 years ago. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, JoAnn Young. Survivors include his wife, Patricia A. Weldon; children, Dathan Weldon, Duane and Lisa Weldon, Lori and Larry Hanson and Rhonda and David Spaugh; 4 grandchildren, Colton Spaugh, Conagher Spaugh Dustin Weldon, Kelsey Hanson and a sister, Betty Lou Barnett.
