Ronnie Hunt, age 78, went to be with our Lord, March 17, 2021 in San Antonio, Tx. He was born in Terrell, TX on November 14, 1942 to Newton Aubrey and Nina Ruth (Leathers) Hunt. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed.
Ronnie was a strong, kindhearted and giving man who was adored by all who knew him. He had little interest in material possessions but enjoyed being anywhere in nature. He was a life long foundry man, graduated from Petrolia High School in Petrolia, Tx then moved to Wichita Falls, Tx. He worked several jobs before entering into foundry work. He worked along side his father, brother and brother in law for about 12 yrs at Wichita Falls Foundry.
In 1976, he and his family moved to San Antonio where he was Superintendent at AA Foundries for a faithful 36yrs before retiring. Throughout his life he was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, coached many little league and football teams, played adult league baseball, enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing with friends, gardening, and mostly enjoyed time with his high school sweetheart and wife of 58 yrs, Ann. His loved ones will always cherish the memories of his story telling, love of food, contagious laugh and his sense of humor. His laugh came before him and brought joy to all that heard it. He was even-tempered, hard-working, patient and brought honor to all of his endeavors. His cutting, handsome brown eyes, contagious laugh and easy going nature will be missed dearly.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Alan D. Hunt.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Hunt; son Bobby and wife, Diana Hunt; daughter Teresa (Hunt) Cocke and husband Jim Cocke, grandkids, Jacob and Cassidy Cocke; sister Connie (Hunt) Rutledge and husband Roy Rutledge, many well loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Visitation will be 12-3 pm, Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home.
