Ron Gamble went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, August 21, 2012. He was born June 16, 1943. He joined the Navy in 1962 and served four and a half years on the USS Sea Cat. After a long career at USAA, he began teaching at Vestal Elementary in Harlandale ISD 19 years ago, and was still teaching.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Fern Wallace Gamble, and father, Lt. Col. James R. Gamble, Jr., Ret. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda Gamble; daughter, Kristen Rea and husband Greg; daughter, Amanda Keyworth and husband Chuck; granddaughters, Renae and Sydney Rea; sister, Diane Gamble; brother, Michael Gamble and wife Susan Meader; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be 5-8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 am on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
