Ronald G. Cherry, age 74, passed away February 18, 2022 in San Antonio, TX. He was born in Charleston, IL on August 17, 1947 to Chester and Norma Cherry. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Rosie Cherry, daughter, Laura Estrada & husband Aaron, son, Christopher Cherry & wife Wendy, brother, Randy Lichtenberger & partner Tom Rucker, grandchildren: Carlos Estrada, Caden Cherry & Carter Cherry, nephew, Chad Cherry and niece, Cheryl Woods & numerous cousins.
Ron honorably served 21 years in the United States Air Force & was a proud Vietnam Veteran active in the American Legion as a life member for 49 years having served as Post Commander of William M Randolph Post 593, Windcrest Post 612 and Missing Man Post 667, 20th District, Third Division, Department of Texas and as National Executive Committeeman. He has served numerous other offices as well a member of or Chairman of numerous committees on all levels. Ron also was a life member of VFW Post 4676.
He attended the Main Post Chapel of Ft Sam Houston for over 25 years.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Chester Lee Cherry and Norma Lichtenberger & stepfather Kenneth Lichtenberger, brother Chester Lee Cherry Jr., and grandson Michael Estrada.
