Roger Edward Gonzalez

Roger Edward Gonzalez was born on December 26, 1969 to Manuel and Lydia Gonzalez in Tampico, Mexico. Roger was an extremely loved son, brother, godfather, uncle, friend, employee, coworker, and so much more. He worked diligently at Medtronic for over a decade; there and everywhere else Roger went, he lit up the room and adorned each occasion with his presence. He was unapologetically himself and with a great sense of humor that showed us how to find the positives and joy lying in situations. Everything he did was over the top because, “Why not?” Always bringing the exotic side dish or cocktail or dessert for all to enjoy no matter the cost, time, or effort that needed to be put into it; he wanted to see the smile on all of our faces. He lived his life to the fullest with style and flair because, “Why not?” Roger took great joy in finding and gifting his loved ones with something that was “just right for them…” From articles of clothing and accessories to decorations and homemade crafts, there was never a hesitation. Yet all along, Roger was the real gift…

Our beloved Roger passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the age of 52 from a heart attack. The void we will all feel from his absence may never be replenished and, in turn, the lessons and memories Roger left with us can never be replaced…

He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel H. and Lydia Gonzalez. Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his siblings, Juan H. Hernandez, Lydia S. Mahavier (Mark), Norma Gonzalez- Ruiz (Richard Ruiz); nieces and nephews, Gavin Mahavier, Julia Mahavier, Maxx Ruiz, Marz Ruiz, Sarah Strey (Chris), Rafael Strey, Juan Manuel Hernandez and his best friend, David Terrones. He will be truly missed by family and friends.
