Roberto, more commonly known as Bobby, was an extremely hard-working man. He had a long and outstanding career with the United States Army, where he worked as a United States Army Combat Medic, Combat Medic Instructor, and United States Army Recruiter. During his twenty four year career, he received many accommodations such as the Army Good Conduct Medal (3), National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Noncommission Officers Professional Development Ribbon (2), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Jump Wings, and Expert Field Medical Badge.
When Bobby wasn’t working, he enjoyed listening to music, going to the gym, hosting annual BBQ cookouts and preparing Thanksgiving dinner for his family. His family was his greatest love and spending time with them was his favorite. His second love was fixing cars and attending car shows. He belonged to Rollerz Only Car Club, where he was the President of the San Antonio Chapter. Bobby also loved to give back to his community and organized numerous donations to charities in the San Antonio area.
Additionally, Bobby was a Wounded Warrior member. Through his involvement, he created strong friendships and will truly be missed by so many.
Roberto is survived by his children; daughter Alicia Garza and husband Daniel Elmore and her mother Leah Garza, daughters Savannah and Alessandra Garza, son Robert Garza, and their mother Toinette Garza. His mother Guadalupe Garza, brothers Daniel and Francisco Garza and sisters MaryAnn Garza and Erica Chavez, as well as numerous relatives and friends all to cherish the memories they created with him.
He was preceded in death by his father Roberto Garza Sr.
A visitation for Roberto Garza Jr. will be held Monday December 14, 2020 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238. A private family Committal Service will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Tuesday December 15, 2020.
