“Take me with you.” – some of Dad’s final words to his wife of 69 years as he gently held her hand while she was passing from this earthly life. Four weeks later, it was made rightly so as he, indeed, peacefully followed her to Heaven. It was Sunday, July 2, 2023, that Roberto Galindo, Sr. (Bob), entered eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Erma Tudyk Galindo, and his parents, Juanita Garcia and Encarnacion Galindo, and his two brothers, Lionel and Charlie.
Bob is survived by his four children, Patricia, Lorraine, Bob, Jr., and Jason, along with their spouses, George, Brett, Kari, and Tonya. Roberto will be loved for generations through his numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bob was born in San Antonio, attended Brackenridge High School, served in the U.S. Navy and Air Force, and had a decades-long career in logistics with the Air Force Civil Service which began at Kelly AFB, then at Wright-Patterson AFB, and finally concluding at Andrews AFB. His sharp mind, attention to detail, and unmatched work ethic led to numerous successes during his career and Bob retired at the rank of GS-15. Subsequently, he went on to a second career as a consultant with the government contractor, ARA. In addition to his professional career, Bob was a wonderful husband, father, benefactor, and patriot. He was a lifelong learner and he loved to read. Bob really enjoyed music, especially if it was paired with some cold beer or some single malt scotch!
