Robert "Bobby" Vega

Robert M. Vega Jr. (Bobby), of San Antonio, Texas, was received into the Mercy of Christ on May 9th, 2023. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Robert M. Vega Sr. and Margarita Cervantes on August 5th, 1949. He married Eloisa Rodriguez on December 2nd, 1967, in San Antonio, Texas.

Robert graduated from St. Philip's College and worked at Southwest Research Institute for 43 years. He was a devout Catholic and enjoyed visiting area churches for daily mass. Bobby loved to spend time outdoors, fishing, camping and doing yard work. The family would travel around the United States to visit different sites from the mountains to the beaches. One of his favorite places to visit was Las Vegas. He was a jack of all trades. He spent time teaching anyone who wanted to learn from mechanic work to woodwork and even bbqing. He loved spending time in his garage and keeping it organized. His crooked smile and sharp whistle will be missed.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Robert Sr. and Margarita Vega.

Bobby is survived by his wife Eloisa, his children Antonio Vega, Eloisa (Lulu) Vega, Rosa Lee McGill (Darrick), JoAnne Ortiz (Raymond), and Michael: his grandchildren, Sebastian Vega, JoAnna Ortiz, Christopher Ortiz, Cassandra Vega, Angel Vega, Lamar McGill, and Marcellus McGill; his brother Alfred Vega (Teresa), sisters Oralia Espinoza (David) and Margie Gonzales (Albert); as well as numerous extended family members, friends, and associates.

Rosary will be held at 6pm on Monday May 15, 2023 at Trevino Funeral Home on Cupples Rd.

Memorial Mass will be on Tuesday May 16, 2023 at 10am, St. James Catholic Church, 907 W. Theo Ave. San Antonio, Texas, followed by interment at San Fernando Cemetery II on Castroville Rd San Antonio, Texas
