Robert Esparza Gonzales

Robert E. Gonzales born on August 2, 1918 in San Benito, TX was called to be with the Lord on August 5, 2014 at the age of 96. He volunteered into the Army Air Corp in 1941. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during World War II in the China-Burma-India Campaign. He received the American Defense Service Ribbon. Mr. Gonzales was a member of the VFW Post 4700 and the American Legion. He is preceded in death by his son, Robert Gonzales Jr.; parents, Modesto and Dolores Gonzales; 2 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by his children, Julie Correa (Frank), Cindy Gonzales, Daniel Canchola, Diana Montemayor (Gilbert), Gracie B. Gonzales, Ramiro B. Gonzales, Henry B. Gonzales (Andrea) and Michael B. Gonzales; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brother, Albert E. Gonzales. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday August 11, 2014 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. with a Rosary at 6:45 p.m. A Funeral Procession will depart from the funeral home on Tuesday August 12, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. for a 9:30 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at St. John Berchmans’ Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, San Antonio, TX.
