On Saturday, March 23, 2019, our beloved father was held tightly in Gods arms as he boarded the bus that would take him to be reunited with his grandmother Juanita Cruz, mother Sara Garcia, stepfather George Michael Garcia, Aunts Antonia Rivera and Juanita Garcia, Brothers Rudy and George Garcia, and his beloved son, Albert, at their Heavenly home.
Dad enjoyed reading western books, watching movies and going out to eat at various restaurants wearing his Stacy Adams hat and guayabara shirts. He was a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School, Class of 1957 and a proud member of the JROTC. He was employed for over 20 years at Nix Memorial Hospital, and Central Catholic High School for 15 years. During his years at CC, he supported their JROTC Brigade and on April 21, 1999 was named an Honorary member of the Corps of Cadets.
He is survived by his children, Robert Jr., Cynthia, Alfred (Marsha), and Melissa (David). Grandchildren Christina (Justin) Blohm, Carlos DelaGarza, Jacob Moreno, Antonio, Audriana, and Angelina Chavez. Great-grandchildren Yazmine and Elijah Sanchez, Penelope and Bear Wyatt Blohm. Sisters Betty (Oscar)Alaniz, Viola Garcia, Janie Rivera, Marie (Aurelio)Chavez, and Annette Rodriguez, and brother Ruben Garcia, Numerous nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank his primary care physician of 20 years, Dr. Lisa Davis and her dedicated staff. We would also like to thank the staff at Highland Nursing Center for their loving care and special attention given to him. Your service and dedication to your patients is truly appreciated.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 1, 2019. Viewing from 5:00-9:00pm, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm.
On Tuesday, April 2, 2019, the funeral procession will depart at 9:30 am for a 10:00 service at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Jose Burial Park.
