Robert was born on October 9, 1974, in Tucson, Arizona (Davis-Monthan Air Force Base) to Rudolph and Sylvia Aguilar Ballí. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Robert graduated from Marshall High School in 1992, then attended The University of the Incarnate Word, earning a degree in Business Administration Management.
He is survived by his lovely wife Bertha “Miriam” Garza Ballí, parents Rudolph “Rudy” Ballí & Sylvia Aguilar Ballí, brothers Rudolph “Rudito” Ballí II (partner Tim Kloppenburg), Carlos Ballí (partner Lupe Franco), daughters Sofia Maria Ballí (fiancé Martin Garcia Jr), Chiara “Kiki” Ballí, Isabela “Bela” Ballí-Johnston (DeAnthony), granddaughter Ariani “Ari” Ballí-Johnston, nephews Jared Ballí (Taylor) and Jordan Ballí (Rubi), great nieces and nephews Drey Christian & Danni Camille Ballí (Jared & Taylor), Jordan Jacob “JJ” & Javian Noel Ballí (Jordan & Rubi), Aliana Becker Ballí, Ariya Bendavid Ballí. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Ysidoro & Linda (Garza) Ballí, maternal grandparents Nicanor & Maria (Ortiz) Aguilar, godparents Pete & Mary “Coyo” (Aguilar) Villa.
Robert is also survived by his extended family including his Father-in-Law Héctor Guadalupe Garza, (Bertha Dalia Garza Ramírez +), Brothers-in-law: Héctor Rolando Garza (Gladys) Mario Alberto Garza (Annette), Sisters-in-law: Melissa González (Víctor) Clarissa Flores (Max), nieces and nephews Crystal, Krissa, Max Andrew, Héctor Jr., Dante, Irany, Dina, Briana, Alan, Mario Jr. and Madeline.
Robert was known for his loving nature, wit, dedication, laughter, mentorship to many and he was a stranger to no one. He enjoyed fishing, golf, traveling with his wife Miriam and football officiating at the college and high school levels. He was very proud of his accomplishments with his employer BD where in 2022 finished in the top 10 of his division. In addition, he became a Presidents Club Gold & Elite member. He joined the San Antonio Football Chapter (TASO) in 1993. In his 31 years of officiating, he earned 4 University Interscholastic League (UIL) high school football championship rings with the Gerald Green and Randy Wilson crews and selected to an All-American Bowl with His father Rudy, brother Carlos, Uncles David & Sonny Ballí, and nephews Jared & Jordan Ballí are also football officials. Robert touched many lives with his kindness, generosity, humor, and dedication.
A celebration of life will be held on March 14, 2025, at 7:00 pm at Porter Loring Mortuary West, 1710 W Loop 1604 N, San Antonio, Texas 78251
The family wishes to thank his many extended families, friends, his employer team of Becton Dickson (BD) Peripheral Intervention Oncology Division, Texas Association of Sports Officials (TASO), San Antonio Football Chapter of TASO who provided support and prayers.
