Richard R. Yanes Sr., age 83, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on November 6th, 2024. Born on September 13th, 1941, to Crespin Yanes and Isabel Rios, Richard loved to live life, had a strong faith, and a deep commitment to family and community.
Richard was a man of quiet strength and humble character. He lived his life day by day, always grounded in his belief in God and in the importance of family. He found great joy in the simple pleasures—dancing, socializing with friends and family, hunting, fishing, and traveling. A lover of life, Richard was also known for his generous spirit, often performing acts of kindness for those around him.
One of Richard's greatest sources of pride was his role as a father and grandfather. He was deeply devoted to his children and grandchildren, and his proudest accomplishment was purchasing a ranch, a place where his family could come together and create lasting memories. Richard fell in love with his soulmate Virginia “Vicky” , who stood by him through thick and thin for 64 years. Their partnership was a testament to love, loyalty, and mutual support, and Vicky was always there for him with unwavering care and devotion.
In addition to his love for family, Richard enjoyed a long and successful career that spanned over 60 years. His proudest professional achievement was his retirement from Clear Channel, an advertising company where he spent many years, dedicating himself to the craft with integrity and loyalty.He continuously and diligently was with the same structure until it was bought out by fortune 500 business.
Richard will reunite in heaven with his parents; Crespin and Isabel Yanes, his grandparents; Hijinio Yanes and Simona Ochoa, Julio Rios and Inez Morales, and his brother; Gilbert Yanes.
Richard's memory and legacy will forever live in the hearts of his beloved wife; Virginia “Vicky” Salinas Yanes, his children; his son, Richard Salinas Yanes Jr. (Mary Jane), his daughter, Isabel Yanes Hinojosa (Rocky), his siblings; Oralia Ramirez (Robert), Leonard Yanes (Eloisa), Martha Rendon (Joe) , Benilde Lopez (Ruben), Nick Yanes, and Ofelia Rodriguez (Robert); his beautiful grandchildren; Nathan Hinojosa, Magenskye Hinojosa, Monet Elise Yanes, Richard Crespin Yanes III (Hollie), Demetri Damasio Yanes,, he leaves behind his 11 great-great grandchildren.
A visitation for Richard will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 11:59 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, Texas 78237. A rosary will occur Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 7:00 PM, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, Texas 78237. A mass of the resurrection will occur Friday, November 15, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Jude Catholic Church, 130 S San Augustine Ave, San Antonio, Texas 78237. An internment will occur Friday, November 15, 2024 at San Fernando Cemetery III, 1735 Cupples Road, San Antonio, Texas 78226.
