

Richard Torres passed away on November 8, 2024. A life-long San Antonian, he was born on May 3, 1952, to Roberto and Gloria Torres. He was the youngest of three brothers. Rick attended St. James Catholic School, LaSalle High School and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1970. He attended St. Mary’s University where he was in Alpha Delta Gamma fraternity, graduating with a B.A. in Psychology. Rick had a successful 42-year career in credit operations before his retirement in 2016.
Rick loved hunting, fishing and travel. He was known for his strong faith, strong character and wonderful sense of humor. His favorite days were spent with family and friends for a barbeque, dinners and holiday gatherings. Most of all he loved cheering on his grandchildren in all their activities or spending time with them at home telling jokes, watching movies and playing games. His smile will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Elizabeth (Liz) Torres, daughter Adriana Krupka, son-in-law Peter, grandchildren Gabriel, Vivienne and Dean Krupka, brother Robert Torres (Esther), brothers-in-law, Daniel Botello (Melba), Robert Botello (Diana) and sister-in-law, Veronica Torres and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Roberto and Gloria Torres, and brother Ernesto Torres. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, happiness and a love of fishing. He will be dearly missed by his family and numerous life-long friends.
The family will receive guests from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2024, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
