Richard Lee Schmidt

1949-2017

Richard’s earthly journey ended on August 18, 2017 at the age of 68 but his new adventure in Heaven in our Good Shepherd’s arms has begun. Born on June 1, 1949 to Charles Richard Schmidt and Catherin Watson Schmidt in Dallas, TX. He is survived by his Mother, his loving wife of 46 years, Molly, children Jennifer Padgett (Tom), Matthew Schmidt (Haley) grandchildren, Marjie Padgett, Maddie Schmidt and Luke Schmidt.

Brothers -in -law that he considered his Brothers, Bill Reynolds (Teresa), Pat Reynolds (Kay) and Rick Reynolds (Debbie).

Richard loved life and was always ready to travel. He was an avid reader who used his library card more than a credit card. Over the years the things he held most dear, other than family, were his 240Z and his motorcycle.

Richard always said that he would not lose his battle with cancer … that he would just run out of time.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, 14700 San Pedro Avenue, San Antonio, TX.

Our family wishes to thank Hope Hospice for helping us endure the passing of our loved one. Their compassion and caring was a blessing to all of us.
