Richard Frank Meister

Richard Meister, 72, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on the 25th of July 2017. Richard was born in New York City. He graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School and shortly thereafter joined the United States Air Force. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and concluded his service in San Antonio. Richard was married to Vilma Cortez on the 17th of December 1967; they were married 49 1/2 years. Following his service with the United States Air Force, Richard worked for the United States Postal Service for 38 years. His favorite interests included boxing and football; he was also involved as a Sunday School teacher.

Richard is preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte, and his father, Franz. Richard is survived by his wife Vilma, their sons Eric and Scott, daughter-in-law Vanessa and grandchildren Liam, Benjamin and Olivia.

A funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. on the 11th of August 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes. Pastor Russell Peek of Zion Lutheran Church will be officiating. The funeral service will be followed by a graveside ceremony at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery with Military Honors. Zion Lutheran Church will host a reception at the church Fellowship Hall after the services and ceremony have concluded.
