Richard Jimenez Sr.

Richard Jimenez, Sr., of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024. He was born on July 22, 1928 to Esteban Jimenez and Josefina Galvan Jimenez. He was one of 12 children. Richard served his country with pride in the Army. Richard married the love of his life, Irene E. Jimenez on Sept. 24,1950 and celebrated 60 yrs. of marriage. Richard worked at Kelley Field Air Base for many years and retired from there. While working at Kelley he received several awards from special work and tools he created while there. Following retirement he went on to work as a Wedding Photographer and later also at Myers Machine Shop. He loved to stay busy.

Richard was an active man, he was a jogger and ran marathons during his fifties and sixties. He was also an avid bowler joining many leagues in his lifetime. He continued to bowl in a league up to age 95.

Richard will be united in heaven with his wife Irene Jimenez, and his son Richard Jimenez, Jr. Also with many family member who have preceded him.

Richard's memory will forever live in the hearts of his children Bernice Jimenez, Joe Jimenez (Jeanette), Mark Jimenez (Debbie), Sandra Cory (John), Cindy Jimenez (Richard,Jr) and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Richard will be missed by everyone who knew him.
