Richard G. DeVilbiss, Jr. passed away October 26, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 25, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas to Richard and Harriet DeVilbiss. He proudly served his country in the US Navy and was a Vietnam veteran.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Richard G. DeVilbiss, Sr. and Harriet King and brothers, Henry and Lem DeVilbiss.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Esperanza DeVilbiss; daughters, Juanita “YaYa” D. Martinez, Lupita “Chalup” D. DeLos Santos (Ruben); granddaughter, Samantha; grandsons, Eric, Daniel, Ruben Gayle; great-grandson, Ethan; sisters, Phyllis Cochran (Eldon), Bonnie McCurry (Floyd), Sandi Moyer (Bob); many nieces, nephews and cousins and his beloved Aunt Nellie Lawhon.
Visitation will be Friday, October 28, 2011 from 6PM to 9PM at Sunset Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 2PM at Sunset Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Oak Island Methodist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carrizo Springs VFW Post # 9361.
