Richard De Leon

Richard was born on January 19, 1948 in Galveston, Tx and passed away surrounded by his loving family on February 17, 2022 in San Antonio, TX. He attended Fox Tech High School and retired from the U.T. Health Science Center as a Senior Procurement Officer.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Norma Simon DeLeon, sons Rick DeLeon and Daniel DeLeon (Jennifer), 3 grandsons Carson, Jackson & Hudson DeLeon, siblings Edward DeLeon, Robert DeLeon (Vangie), Belinda Zavala, Edith Ortega (Michael), Maribel McElroy (Darren) and many nieces and nephews.

Richard’s favorite thing to do was spending time with his family, he especially enjoyed Sunday dinners at the house. He was his sons and grandsons #1 fan, watching them play sports brought him joy. After retirement, Richard and Norma enjoyed vacationing together and with the family. He was a member of the St. Jude Novena prayer group, he was a volunteer and member of the VSPs at Blessed Sacrament Church and was an avid Cowboys fan.

The celebration of his life will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, 600 Oblate Dr. on Thursday, March 10, 2022. Rosary will be at 10:00 followed by Mass.
