Ricardo attended Fox Tech High School and joined the U.S. Marine Corp after high school. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, California. Ricardo was an artist, painter and sculptor, and musician who played accordian and acoustic guitar. He was a Social Worker by profession and employed by the Texas Department of Human Services. His interest and hobbies included art, history, philosophy, greek mythology, archaeology, geology, and music. His greatest love was his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Susie Martinez, siblings Lucy Hargis, Edward Martinez and Sonny Martinez, and spouse Patricia A. Martinez
Ricardo is survived by his children Melissa Luna and Melinda Martinez, his grandchildren Monique Luna, Stephanie Luna and Andrea Luna, His great-grandchildren Donica Rodriguez, Dominique Rodriguez, Makenzie Rodriguez, Malachi Rodriguez, Evan Gonzales, Logan Gonzales, and Roman Gonzales.
Visitation will be Monday, August 20, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with an evening service at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers Funeral Home 515 N. Main Ave. The funeral service will be held at Funeraria del Roy Akers Tuesday, August 21, 2018, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. The cemetery service is at 1:30pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
