My sweet dear cousin I remember the old days on Awbrey our fun times as kids.  My prayers go out for all your family. Life takes strange turns yet we don't know why we are given certain hands in life some happy and some sad.  All I know is we will meet again. Love you dearly cousin.

I last communicated with Rene in 2006 and always thought highly of him as a husband, father, and man.  Our families saw each other regularly from 2000-2005 as we shared a common faith in God.  Our children played together too.  He and Rachel opened their home to me when I was going through a difficult period and for this I will always be thankful and grateful to him and his family.   If people are given jobs to do in Heaven, Rene would be perfect for making people feel at ease, accepted, and loved.  By for now Rene....

May You Rest In Peace, on Bday,  Rene a Great person/friend  always had a charming smile and sense humor,  always  made every ones day with  his always Big Smile, positive attitude, very caring person who always put others first,  Always willing to help others, a good listener, Great memories will always be treasured, and a Cowboys fan . Rene always had that special smile, always so friendly and a sense of humor like no other, he was a very happy and  caring person.    My deepest condolence to his family, may God give them strength.  I'm sure  he still has that big smile looking down on his LOved ones and will  missed especially when watching the Cowboys games.   May You rest in peace Rene  and God bless.......

I've had the privilege of many wonderful shared memories with Rene, Rachel and kids. When I think of Rene it always comes to mind his big smile as he would sing out your name to greet you with a hug. I also, think of how he would recount stories and they would be funny to listen too , whether first time in mtg or convention , things we did together working on projects, having air soft wars, going coon hunting for the first time new years eve in Lampasas (shot off a model rocket that circled in the sky then landed in the wheelbarrow and caught fire with the grass.) or his first ATM experience it was always a joy to listen to how he perceived the experience. Rene was very capable and very dynamic yet ,had a beautiful way of humbly esteeming others better than himself and I will always value that .

The thing I remember most about Rene is how he listened to you when you spoke to him like what you were saying was very important. He was enthusiastic and charming. One time after church Rene knew I was having a rough time and he just walked up to me and gave me a huge hug. He never said a word . That was exactly what I needed at that time . I will always remember and love Rene and my memories of him and his family. He was a great husband, Dad and friend . RIP Rene . 

Lots of good memories of Rene and his family. Having them in our home and watching how great of a husband and father he was. For Rene’s 40th birthday, we planned a surprise party at our home.  It was so wonderful to surprise him.  We didn’t have smart phones then, but I got several shots in our regular camera that captured the moment when he realized there was something going on to surprise him.  Naturally, there were some jokes about the fact that he was turning 40 and, well, old.   That is just one of the many, many wonderful memories that I and my family have of Rene and his family who are treasures for us.  Rene touched our lives and his presence in our hearts is indelible.
