

Raymond Muzquiz, great-grandson of Melchor Muzquiz, 1832 President of Mexico, passed away September 14th. Proudly served in the U.S. Army, 1st Cavalry Division, Korea, Japan; San Antonio Police Department Detective; Department of Justice, FBI graduate; U.S. Marshall Service District Supervisor, Col. Shriner Motor Patrol, Master Mason 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, 33rd Degree York Rite and Order of Knights Templar Columbus. Preceded in death by his parents, Juan Muzquiz and Esther Treviño; son, Darrell Anthony Muzquiz and brother, Frank Muzquiz. Survived by wife, Alma Muzquiz; daughter, Dr. Veronica Muzquiz-Edwards and her spouse, Bryan Edwards; son Douglas Muzquiz; brothers, Daniel & John Muzquiz; sisters, Esther Contreras, Emma Koeppel & Olga Sanchez; and grandchildren, Sydney Nichole and Austin Alexander Edwards, Alec and Neo Muzquiz. Family will receive guests Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 6:00–7:00pm followed by a 7:00pm Rosary at Porter Loring North. Mass on Friday, September 28, 2018 11:30am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3907 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions requested for the American Diabetes Association.
