Raymond Escamilla Garcia entered rest on May 1, 2016 at the age of 67. A native of San Antonio, Texas, he was born to Raymundo and Guadalupe Garcia on December 27, 1948. He now reunites with his parents and siblings: Albert Martinez, David Martinez, Rosie Hernandez; and beloved fur baby Spotty. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dora; children: Dora (Joe) Castillo, Rachel A.(Steve) Stowe, Anthony Ray (Ameryss) Garcia; grandchildren, Joseph Matthew Castillo, Steven Ray Stowe; siblings: Alice Hernandez, Sandra Garcia, and Richard Garcia; and fur babies, Coco and Tank; and other relatives and friends. Raymond faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam conflict and was recipient of: The National Defense Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Rifle Sharpshooter badge, and Vietnam Service Medal. He retired from Kelly Air force base after 20 years as an aircraft painter and later worked at Lockheed Martin. Raymond loved fishing, but mostly loved being in the presence of his family and loved ones. The Garcia family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Christus Santa Rosa Westover Hills ICU unit for the sincere compassion and care of Raymond.The family will receive guests at Roy Akers funeral home Friday, May 6, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery.
