Raul the son of Elisa Vargas Rincon and Reyes Rincon, passed on May 22nd 2015
at age 93 at his residence in San Antonio Texas, after his courageous battle against cancer.
Raul was born on March 25th 1922 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He joined the US Army Calvary in October 1940. He served honorably, fought and was decorated in both the Pacific and later Korean theaters of war and earned 2 Purple Hearts in Korea.
After serving his country for 20 years he retired from the US Army in 1965 at the rank of Master Sergeant.
Raul was preceded in death by his parents and wife Velma Whiteside Rincon.
Raul is survived by his sister Rebecca Rincon Castro, age 96; children Carlos Rincon, Margaret Mondragon, Richard Rincon, Martin Raul Rincon and David Rincon, as well as step- children Pat & Bob Matheaus, Morris Barker and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A funeral Service will be conducted at 12:15 P.M. Friday, June 5, 2015 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with U.S. Army military honors.
