Ramiro G. Cortez

Ramiro G. Cortez passed away on January 13, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Antonia Cortez, his siblings, Rosa Cruz, Aurora Barrera, Henry "Kiki" Cortez, Herman J. Cortez, and by his beloved wife, Bertha M. Cortez of 53 years. Mr. Cortez (Papa) is survived by his sisters, Pauline Martinez, Mary Palos, Gloria Pena, Margaret Escobedo, and brother Modesto Cortez and their respective families. In addition, Papa is survived by his 14 children (their spouses), Fr. Ramiro R Cortez, OMI, Armando Cortez (Ruth), Carlos Cortez (Ann), Alfred Cortez (Rosemary), Suzzanna Currier (Steve), Lourdes Ramirez (Rick), Carmen Saldana (Edgar), Dolores Cortez, MD, George Cortez (Ludi), Olga Munoz (Ernest), Paula Strelchun (John), John Cortez (Gladys), Tom Cortez (Dolores), Samuel Cortez (Graciela), 22 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be Wednesday, Jan 15, 2014 from 5-7pm Recitation of Holy Rosary will follow at 7pm at Roy Akers Funeral Home. Christian burial will be at 10am, Thursday, Jan.16, 2014 at Mission San Jose, 701 East Pyron Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78214. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery No. 2. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, 285 Oblate Dr., San Antonio, TX 78216.
