Raimundo is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Gilma Rodriguez; four sons, Adin (Kimberly) Gonzalez, Adiel (April) Rodriguez, Aldrin (Julieta) Rodriguez, Gaddi DeMatta; one daughter, Ceila (Kenneth) Follis, and 21 grandchildren and many very special family and friends.
SGT Raimundo Rodriguez proudly served in the United States Army and retired after 20 years of faithful service as Infantryman from 1948-1968 during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was stationed in numerous locations in Asia, Latin America, and Continental United States. Raimundo also served in the USAF Civil Service as a sheet metal mechanic at Kelly AFB, San Antonio, Texas from 1984-1994. He maintained aircraft like the B-52 Stratofortress, C-5 Galaxy, and F-16 Fighting Falcon.
After retiring from the Army, he and his wife settled in Guatemala City, Guatemala, where they became members of Missionary Church of God where he served for four years as co-pastor of one of the numerous churches in this denomination. They later moved back to San Antonio, Texas in 1984 where he became very involved as an usher and deacon at Faith Assembly of God. He was a member for over 34 years.
A visitation will be held Sunday, January 19th at 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a prayer service beginning at 6:00pm- 8:00pm at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd, SATX. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, January 20th at 12:00pm (Noon); interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:00pm.
