Dr. Rafael R. Villegas

Dr. Rafael R. Villegas was called home to our dear Lord on August 9, 2013. Born August 17, 1953 to Rafael and Lucy Villegas, young Richard was the first of their four children: Sylvia, Robert, and Sandra. He attended college at Texas A&M University Kingsville where he met the love of his life, Norma Peña, whom he married in 1975. He and his beloved wife had two children, Rafael Roberto Villegas (fiancé Karina Sanchez) and Analisa Roland (Brandon Roland). Rafael graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Dental School, and practiced in San Antonio for nearly 17 years before becoming Dental Director of Su Clinica Familiar in Harlingen, TX. He was welcomed to paradise by our Heavenly Father, his grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousin Lydia Quezada, and niece Melinda Jayne Villegas. Dr. Villegas brought thousands of smiles to this world through his work and humor. He will forever be remembered for his countless jokes, endless knowledge, and love for cars. Our hearts will forever be sorrowful at the loss of our father, husband, son, brother, and friend. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road of Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the St. Joseph Church at Cordi-Marian, 11624 Culebra Rd, 78253 on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Carlos Davalos officiating.
