Rafael Antonio Delgado-Simonet

Rafael was born in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico to Ventura Delgado and Maria Del Pilar Simonet on October 27,1933. He attended school in Arecibo and graduated from St Mary’s University in San Antonio with a Bachelor and a Master degree in Political Science. Rafael worked for Electronic Security Command for 24 years and retired as Deputy Chief of Staff in1988. As a veteran of the Korean War, he served in the United States Air Force and was awarded 6 medals. Rafael’s passion was the genealogy study of the Delgado-Simonet families. He also truly enjoyed golfing and gardening.

Rafael is preceded in death by his parents, Ventura Delgado and Maria Del Pilar and his precious grandson Eric Rohleder.

Rafael is survived by his wife Janice Ingram Delgado; his children Rafael Delgado, Suzan Delgado, Giselle Rohleder (Steve Rohleder), Patricia Murray (Kevin Murray), Anthony Delgado (Mei Guo), Maria Barrett-Dunn (Eddie Dunn); his sister Betzaida Coca; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm Tuesday, February 20 at Sunset Memorial. Burial follows at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:15pm.
