Phyllis Ann Dunn

Phyllis Ann Dunn peacefully entered eternal rest on July 7, 2015. Born in Richlands, Virginia on March 9, 1940, Phyllis is remembered for her compassion, tireless work ethic and knack for lighting up any room she entered. She never met a stranger.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Howard W. Dunn, and parents, Margie and Ernest Keesee. Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Denise Hartman and sons, Randy and Robert Dunn, son-in-law, Greg Hartman, granddaughter, Lauren and her husband, Matt Cisneros and grandson, Adam Hartman.

After retiring with 34 years of service to Fort Sam Houston Independent School District, Phyllis dedicated her life to family and friends. More than anything, Phyllis loved being a mom, and cherished her children and grandchildren. Many others often claimed her as their “surrogate mom.”

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday July 15, 2015 from 5-8pm at Sunset Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will take place on Thursday July 16, 2015 at Noon at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, with internment following at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Phyllis requested that any donations in her memory benefit Morgan's Wonderland and/or St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
