Petre Fiona Black, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on July 25, 1940, in Colombo, Sri Lanka, to parents, William George Adamson and Doreen DeSaram. Petre led a truly global life, living in Africa, New Zealand, and England before moving to Perth, Western Australia where she met the love of her life. She was married for 60 years, raising two daughters in Princeton, NJ, before retiring in San Antonio, TX. Petre was known by her friends and family as an outstanding cook who loved entertaining people in her home (optimally with a great bottle of wine).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter John Black, by a mere 3 months. Petre is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Becker and Anneliese Jameson, sons-in-law Brent Becker and Ashley Jameson, and her two beloved granddaughters Alexandra Jameson and Annika Jameson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mays Cancer Center. Petre was supremely grateful to the Mays Center for taking such wonderful care of her husband for four years.
