Perry Joseph Smith

Perry Joseph Smith, age 78, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022. Perry was born March 9, 1944 to Francis C. and Emmett L. Smith. Raised in San Jose, California, later stationed in San Antonio where he met Dolores. Perry was Army medic in Germany and a proud Veteran. He was a big family man and everywhere he went, he was well-known by everybody. Perry worked for Borden's Milk and retired after 25 years. He loved to drive his Shelby around town and spend his free time with family.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife of 54 wonderful years, Dolores Castellano Smith; his sister, Sandra Robinson; and brother-in-law, Joe Meininger.

Perry is survived by his daughter, Linda (Carlos) Flores; his grandchildren, Christopher (Lauren), Erik, Aaron (Michelle), and Carlos (Stephanie); his 5 great-grandchildren, Isaiah Alexander, Jenae Victoria, Christopher Perry, Justin Paul, Daniel Patrick; his sister, Barbara Meininger; his brother-in-law, Bill Robinson; niece, JoAnn Selinger(Bob), Susan Stabell (Eric), as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Perry will be held Sunday, September 11, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A funeral procession will leave Roy Akers Funeral Home the following morning, Monday, September 12, 2022 at 10:45 AM for a committal service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, TX 78209.
