Pauline Torres Salinas, born January 25, 1937 in Las Cruces New Mexico, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2018 at the age of 81 in San Antonio, Texas. She was a strong, fearless, extremely generous and courageous women who was deeply in love with her husband Ricardo and cared immensely for her children, grandchildren, and friends.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Ricardo Salinas, and brothers Mike Torres, Bevo Torres, Tony Torres, and sister Mary Torres.
Pauline’s spent her life raising her children in Los Angeles, California, while supporting, loving, and caring for her husband Ricardo. She was the support base for many of those family members and friends in need and in crisis. She was married to Ricardo for several decades, with the last 32 years enjoying her golden years, retired here in San Antonio. During that time, Pauline and Ricardo were inseparable; spending afternoons siting on the front porch, making day trips to watch deer and other wildlife at the three vacant properties they owned in rural Texas, and watching Spurs games during basketball season. She enjoyed going to IHOP with her daughter Sally where she ordered her weekly pancakes.
She is survived by her loving children, Arturo Salinas, David Salinas, Sally Salinas, Alice Salinas, and step-daughter Irene Salinas, her daughter-in-laws Gail Salinas, Diane Arredondo, and Ashley Salinas and her son-in-law German Hernandez, her grandchildren Richard Salinas III, Romina Salinas, and Jerica Payne-Salinas, and great grandchildren Anacelie Rose Salinas, Richard Salinas IV, Angelina Salinas, Sernity Garcia, Easton Garcia, Legend Salinas, and siblings, Emma Padilla, Sonny Torres, Josephine Barela, Maria “Cruzita” Baca, Frankie Valenzulea, Juanita Valenzuela, and Lorenzo Valenzuela.
The Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Service will be 12 p.m., Monday, October 1, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at Sunset Mausoleum 5000.
