Our beloved Pauline (Polly) Anderson left this world on April 10, 2023, passing peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by dozens of loved ones in the final days of her life. Heaven shined a little brighter that day, as Polly entered its gates with her golden smile and beautiful spirit.
Born on March 5, 1928, at La Espada Missions in San Antonio, Texas, Polly met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Anderson, in 1954 and spent 55 loving years together, happily welcoming their son Robbie, daughter Virginia, grandchildren Sam and Loren who she loved and adored beyond words, and building a thriving business, Johnny Ringo’s restaurant, in Texas together. They never hesitated to help out a friend or a stranger in need, often feeding those who wandered into their restaurants in search of food and comfort.
Polly’s open heart and loving spirit were embraced by all who knew her. She was a true matriarch of her family and a second mom to many, welcoming all into her home and making sure they were fed, supported and loved. Her greatest enjoyments were her family, dancing with her sisters, close friends, and her line dancing group; singing in her church choir; and gathering together, laughing and reminiscing. Polly was strong in her belief in God and the Catholic faith and lived her life according to its principals.
Preceding her in death were her parents Frank and Lucinda Rivas, husband Bob, son Robbie; sisters Nell, Laura, and Ruby; brothers Lorenzo, Frank, Tony, Roy, and Jerry; nephew Eugene, and niece Elizabeth. She leaves behind her daughter Virginia Feldman (Mark), grandchildren Sam Kelfer and Loren Feldman; sisters Lilly Kidd (Harvey), Della Gallien, and Mary Ruiz; brother Albert Rivas; nieces and nephews Jeanne; Sandra, Paul and Alan; Edward; Kathy, Ellen, Julie, Cyndi, and Carolyn; Albert, Laura, Tom, and Lucinda; Richard, Don, and Rita; Anthony and Gregory; David, Angela, and Jessica; and a host of great nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to Memory Care at Arden Courts, San Antonio for the golden care and loving support they gave to Polly over the past year of her life.
Smile with love when you think of Polly; stay close to your family to love and honor her.
