Paul Leo Wendel

Paul Leo Wendel, age 87, born in Gonzales, Texas, went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2011. He was a Navy veteran and worked for Vaughn and Sons for 40 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Reba George Wendel. He is survived by his sons Paul Leo Wendel, Jr. and wife Audrey and Thomas Wayne Wendel and wife Margie; grandchildren, Dawn M. Ramon, Gregory P. Wendel and Marine S/Sgt. Brian T. Wendel; several step grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, with a Rosary recited at 7:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 8:30am at St John Neuman Catholic Church, 6680 Crestway, San Antonio, TX 78239. Interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter and St. Joseph Children’s Home, 919 Mission Road, San Antonio, TX 78210.
