Paul R Salazar, 90, went to be with the Lord on the morning of August 26, 2021. Paul was born on June 21, 1931, in Greeley CO to Santos and Eutimia (Romero) Salazar. At the age of 16, Paul aged up and enlisted in the United States Army, He went through basic training and was shipped off to Germany. When he was stationed in San Antonio, he began serving in the US Air Force. He met the love of his life, Mary Louise and they celebrated 53 years of marriage. Paul served overseas in Germany, France, Japan and The Azores. He earned a Bronze Star in the Vietnam War for his bravery. After retiring from the Air Force, Paul was employed with the Texas Health Science Center. Paul and Mary Louise settled in San Antonio where they raised their three girls. Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a devoted sports fan, but his true passion was playing golf with his son in laws and friends. He loved spending time with family and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Louise, his parents; brothers, Filbert, Sociendino, Tony, Gene and Ernie; sisters Portie and Patty. He is survived by his daughters, Sandra de los Santos of Bandera, Lorraine (Phil) of The Woodlands, Elizabeth (Rocky) of The Woodlands. Adored grandchildren Allison, Kimberly, Andres, Mia, Lindsay, Kristen (Ryan), Amy (Louie) and Eric. And 4 precious great grandchildren Tara, Payton, Madison, and Eli. He is also survived by brother Ray, and sisters Julie, Josie, Margaret, and Sally, and sister in law Lydia Parnell (Phil). Special thanks to loving care giver Karla, who gave Paul the best care and attention in his last years.
He will have a private viewing and funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
