I, too,am still in shock that Paul is gone. He suffered a long time, but I'm especially glad that I was with him when he passed away. I'm going to miss him a lot. We did everything together. I have not hurt this much in a long time. I have never felt this alone in my whole life. I need the peace that God promises I will have. Please stay in touch with me. I need my loved ones, my friends around me. I know that I shared a good life with Paul, but in the end it seemed that I could not do enough to save him. It comforts me to know though, that he loved me and that he was at peace in the end. Thank you for your expressions of sympathy. Your warm words provided a tremendous amount of strength and support to me. I know that Paul valued your friendship and he would be grateful for all of the nice things you had to say about him. I appreciate your prayers and support and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Love, Merle.

He loved to meet with his many friends, most of which were prior military, and he was a competitive pool player on the local VFW circuit. Paul also looked forward to and loved to play in friendly games of poker. His devoted wife was his constant companion throughout his retirement. Paul was much attuned to current events and had strong beliefs and thoughts that he was not afraid to bluntly speak out. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
