Born and raised in southeastern Colorado until he was 12, when the family moved to Amarillo, TX, Paul graduated from Tascosa High School and West Texas State University. After serving four and a half years in the Army as an Air Defense Artillery Officer, including a tour in Vietnam, Paul got his law degree from the University of Texas Law School and went to work for the IRS, where he served in the Estate and Gift Tax Division for 35 years.
An avid bridge player, Paul attained the rank of Platinum Life Master (over 10,000 master points), an achievement very rare in the bridge world! He also was a huge baseball and basketball fan, watching and attending many local games.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Rosemary Kelley, two sons, Paul Kelley of Copperas Cove, TX and Rodney Kelley of Colorado Springs, CO, four grandchildren, and a younger brother.
A memorial service and visitation with the family will be held at Sunset North Funeral Home on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 1:30 PM.
