Patsy Ruth Koch, 88, of Helotes, TX, died on Wednesday, March 18, following a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was born in Dallas, TX, on August 5, 1926, to William Taylor Douglass and Mildred Grace (Blount) Douglass. She married Marvin Herman Koch on April 10, 1945, and they were happily married for 54 years. They had five children before he preceded her in death in 1999.
Patsy was a homemaker and later worked at Kelly Air Force Base for 20 years before retiring. Her greatest joy came from planning family gatherings and joining her dear friends for Bingo games.
Survivors include son, Richard and wife Fiona; daughters, Diane Fey and husband John; Jeanne McEndree and husband Marc; Sue Massey and husband Cliff; Liz Cahalan and husband Jim; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.
The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the love, loyalty and companionship provided by Dana Hiatt, a dedicated caregiver and wonderful friend. Visitation is Sunday, March 22, from 6:00 p.m.to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m.at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road. A mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Helotes, TX, on Monday, March 23, at 10 a.m. Graveside services following the mass at San Fernando No.3 Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation at www.Parkinson.org.
