Lanafuiana Peni-Paris Siulua Jr known by all as Paris gained his wings on January 31, 2020 at home peacefully in his sleep. He was born on August 16, 1979 in San Diego Ca to Yolanda L.B. Silas (San Antonio TX) and (Deceased) Lanafuiana P. Siulua Sr. Paris spent his childhood growing up in Beacon NY with his mother and grandparents (deceased) Harry L. Brown Sr and Hazel B. Alston-Brown.
At the age of 12 Paris accepted the Lord as his personal savior and was baptized at The Ebenezer Baptist Church in Newburgh NY. Shortly after he and his mother moved to San Antonio TX where he attended and graduated from Marshall High School in 1998. After graduation Paris moved to Carbondale IL to attend Southern Illinois University to pursue music and culinary. He was a dedicated father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. Paris worked hard to be the best role model he could be! Paris was a passionate man. He strived to do his best in every capacity with everything he pursued. He was an amazing chef who played an incredible role at Tai Taste Carbondale. He was a caring friend always willing to help those in need. At no time would Paris hesitate to lend a listening ear or offer words of wisdom. He had an incredible love for music which highly influenced the Carbondale IL Community. He was a radio personality and DJ on WDBX Southern Illinois Radio where his show Lab Kids aired weekly. Paris was a selfless man. He always made sure everyone else was good and saved his own needs for last. He was a protector yet a soft and kind individual. Paris impacted many lives in such a way that will never be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by Johnny W Silas Jr his dad since the age of 12. He was also preceded in death by his Aunt Diedre D Brown. Paris leaves to cherish his memories, 2 sons Dylan Bradley Short (Ashley) 6 yrs and Jude Maxwell Siulua (Kristina) 14 yrs of Murphysboro IL, a loving mother Yolanda Silas (SA), 2 sisters Iyanla Z Silas (SA) and DeAndra Z. Silas (SA). 2 Uncles Rev Dr Harry L Brown JR (Della) Liberty NY and Rev Randall I Brown Sr (Laury) Alamo TX. He also leaves an abundance of cousins My Sons 2 and friends. His entire Family, extended Beacon NY and San Antonio TX family, Tai Taste family, Carbondale IL Community and anyone who has ever met Paris will never forget his influence on all of our lives. Paris was truly one of the great ones.
