My Tio Paul saw me as his own child because he thought I look a lot like my tia and I also spent  a lot of time with the both of them when I was little. I sadly don’t remember a lot when I was younger but he will always remind me of our memories . Recently on his 60th birthday he was trying to convince me to move in with him and my tia . He gave me a tour of the apartment while talking about how it would be if I moved in . He mentioned how him and my tia can be in one room while I can stay in the room that he was currently in .  That will always be a core memory for me , seeing the excitement in his face when talking about it showed that he truly loved and cared about me . He will always hold a special place in my heart . 

When I was younger, I remember Tio Paul will always ask me “What you got right there?” and even when I got older, he never stop using that phrase with me because it was an inside joke we had created. I appreciate the amount of times him and my Tía Cecy would take care of me growing up. I admired his love for animals because we knew we could always give him the stray dogs and cats from our house and they will be well taken care of. 

My Tio Paul loved animals & I mean LOVED!! If he could , he would save all the stray cats & dogs in the world.  I know if he ever came across one , they were saved by him , (even if it was prohibited to keep animals where he lived.) He liked to cut out pictures of dogs and put them around his home . This made a great scavenger hunt for Serenity whenever we went over , because she liked to point them all out. He also loved my little girls & liked to spend time with them , which means the world to me .

My fondest memory of my Tio Paul is when I was a little girl, he fixed my bike for me. I was riding my bike at the ranch having a fun time. All of a sudden I saw myself facing the biggest problem a little girl could have. I needed the training wheels on my bike to be even as they were wobbling side to side when I rode. Tio Paul was there, and when I asked for help, he immediately grabbed his tools to fix my bike. While it may  not seem impactful to others, in that moment, he made my day.  My Tio Paul was quiet and that is how I knew him for most of my life, but to me, he will always be the one who fixed my bike when I needed help.
