Born on October 3, 1945, Oscar lived a life full of love, laughter, hard work, and devotion to his family. In his youth, he found a passion in caring for farm animals. Oscar also found joy in playing baseball as a catcher, and spending time outdoors.
He had a deep appreciation for music, enjoying the Norteno genre, and learning anything he could from the Discovery Channel. Oscar’s warm spirit, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Jose Enrique Garcia, and his parents, Eutiquio and Melchora Garcia.
Oscar is survived by his wife, Celvia Garcia; his loving children, Orlando Garcia (Elizabeth), Veronica Ruiz (Hermenegildo), and Oscar Garcia Jr (Dulce); his cherished grandchildren, Orlando Garcia Jr, Edward Garcia, Arianna Garcia, Alexander Ruiz, Jessyka Ruiz, Jose Garcia Jr, Priscilla Garcia, Mia Garcia, Oscar Garcia III, and Enrike Garcia. He is also remembered fondly by numerous extended family members and friends who were touched by his kindness, wisdom, and strength.
Oscar’s legacy of love, resilience, and family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
There will be a Visitation held Monday, April 28, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. On Tuesday, April 29, 2025 our doors will open at 8:30 a.m., we will then go in procession for a 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Jude Catholic Church, 130 S San Augustine Ave, San Antonio, TX 78237, followed by burial at Wild Flower Cemetery, 10392 Kriewald Rd, San Antonio, TX 78245.
