Nilda Tamez

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donato and Victoria Quilantan and her beloved husband, Juan Jose Tamez.

She is survived by children, Magaly Bernazky (Peter), Idalia Zaldivar (John), Sandra Nidia Eddy (Bob), Juan Jose Jamez Jr (Patricia Ann), Sally Tamez-Salas (Gilbert), Francisco E Tamez, Marie M. Vanover (Jim Goodwin), Javier Tamez and Mireya Tamez-Jones; her grandchildren, Edward Alvarado, Evette Alvarado (Stephen Thompson), John Anthony Zaldivar (Kimberly Glover), Brian James Vanover, Marisol Tamez, Marisela Myers (Aaron) and Maya Avery Tamez-Jones; and her two great-grandchildren, Raaf Oliver Alvarado and Mara A. Adams.

Nilda worked for many years as a typist for the San Antonio Housing Authority.

A visitation will be held Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, 78218 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Chapel service will be held on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
