Nereida is preceded in death by her parents, Casimiro Barrera and Ramona Saenz Barrera, and her husband Edmundo Perez.
She is survived by her daughter, Nereida Veronica Ramirez and husband Joe; granddaughter, Noemi Solis and husband Brian Perkins; great-granddaughter, Isabella Nereida Perkins; brother, Arsenio Barrera and wife Pura.
A visitation for Nereida will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Anthony Claret Catholic Church, 6150 Roft Road, San Antonio, TX 78253 with a rosary at 11:30 AM, and a funeral mass at 12:00 PM.
Nereida will be laid to rest in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78209.
