Nelda Louise Hamby, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2013 after a lengthy illness. She was born January 5, 1929 to Roy and Edith (Reed) White in Waco, TX. In 1955, Nelda moved to San Antonio to begin her successful Dairy Queen business. She was active in the San Antonio Restaurant Association Women’s Auxiliary and in her beloved Fellowship of San Antonio, where she was a founding member and served as a Deacon, as well as chairing many committees. She proudly volunteered at Northeast Baptist Hospital, logging over 500 hours. Nelda was preceded in death by her brother, Earl White; sister, Velma Stanley; and her beloved daughters, Janet Cleary and Karen Daniel. She is survived by her loving children; son, Wes Parker (Jill); daughter, Susan Senser; nephew-son, Stephen White (Natasha); son-in-law, John Cleary; grandchildren, Rhonda Amador (Aaron), Wade Cleary (Jennifer), Brad Cleary (Brandy), Andrea Gililland (D.J.), Alexander Parker (Abby), Corbin Senser, Hamby-Louise Senser and Valerie Vasquez; along with seven great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Frank Mueller and Odyssey Hospice for their loving care. A memorial service celebrating Nelda’s life will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 2:00pm at The Fellowship of San Antonio.
